A Twitter user Timothy Omondi (@AmenyaIII) has shared a thread calling put Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc (KPLC) for negligence.
The thread which has elicited condemnation of the electricity supplier alleges that a toddler was Tuesday afternoon injured after it was electrocuted by a KPLC electric supply box that had been left open.
Cases of negligence by KPLC are rampant.
In July 2020, a woman and her 3-month-old son died after they were electrocuted by fallen power cable in Kwale
Residents of the area has told KPLC to repair the pole but the complaints fell on deaf ears for months.

THREAD! #Justice4Alden #KPLCNegligence
1. At around 1. pm this afternoon, our neighbours child was electrocuted and left with severe injury burns on his left hand by this KPLc supply box which was left OPEN in Komarock, Sector 1, Msisi court.
2. This level of negligence and complacency cannot be condoned. As a matter of fact, [KPLC] @KenyaPower is duty bound to not only supply electricity but also maintain its infrastructure and ensure that they are not a danger to the people around.
3. There can be no question that the @KenyaPower has a responsibility to ensure that the power infrastructure it has installed within the state for purposes of electrification is properly maintained to prevent accidents. The child could not be blamed for not seeing the live wires
4. It would not be reasonable to expect that as children play within the estate, they should anticipate live electricity wires that might endanger their lives, paralize them or even lead to death altogether. KPLC must therefor take full responsiblity by assumging liability of the damages, apologise and engage the childs parents on quantum. Meanwhile, Aldens family and friends appeal to the member of public to share this widley as they continue crying out for justice because this is too heavy a burden for them to bear. #justice4Alden #KPLCNegligence
