Earlier in the morning, two thieves on a motorbike accosted a pedestrian along Jogoo road in Nairobi Eastlands area.
They snatched a phone from him and were on their way towards Buruburu to escape with their loot.
Bodaboda riders got wind of the issue and soon were hot in pursuit.
Mechanics along Rabai Road near Naivas Supermarkrt also heard the wails from the victim of the robbery, one of them rushed towards the escaping motorbike with a huge stone which he threw towards its causing the thieves to fall down in a thud. They couldn’t get up faster and were soon caught by the irate wananchi who soon brought petrol from the nearby Rubis Petrol station.
The mechanics provided old timbers which they proceeded to put on fire.
The two thieves were burnt to death.
Their charred remains were taken away by officers from the Buruburu Police Station to City Mortuary.
Crime doesn’t pay.
