Late afternoon showers in Nairobi exposed the poor state of drainage infrastructure in Embakasi West Constituency.
Residents shared flooded sections of the road, buildings and drainage in all the wards, Umoja 1, Umoja 2, Mowlem, Kariobangi/ Uhuru.
Despite the occasional repairs of major roads in the area, such as Moi Drive, the drainage has always been neglected. This has opened a leeway for looting by subsequent contractors charged with repairing that particular road.
The estates reel under the heavy weight of uncollected garbage and disorganization.
Mowlem ward, the whole of Innercore in Umoja 2 ward are a sorry sight to behold.
