‘Pool of blood’
They continued, “The 25-year-old victim, who was a househelp at plot number A20, was found by fellow tenants lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit with a kitchen knife, a day after the two kids she was tending were picked by their guardian and was granted some off-duty. Following forensic leads, a team of DCI Buruburu and CRIB detectives earlier pursued the suspect to Mombasa, but he managed to escape only to find his way back to Nairobi yesterday, the 7th of August 2020”.
In custody
The DCI team kept their pursuit of the suspect, launching ‘an early morning operation which saw him nabbed’.
Police say Leonard Kamau is now in custody pending further processing and arraignment.
