This year’s Kenya Music Festival for Nairobi Region will be held at Bidii Primary School located in Buruburu, Eastlands, Nairobi.
The festival whose theme is Nurturing Talents for Innovation and National Development will take place from 6th- 8th July 2023.
Students of Bidii Primary have been asked to stay at home for the entire period since most classrooms will be occupied by the event.
“This is to notify you that our school will be hosting the Kenya Music Festivals 2023 – Nairobi Regionals from 6th — 8th July. Several classrooms will be used as halls for the performances, therefore, learners will remain at home during this period. I also hereby invite you to come and witness this historic event which will take place in our very own school – Bidii. God bless you all,” a notice to parents stated in full.
Performing school
Bidii primary’s performance in national exams is exemplary.
Over the past decade, the school has managed to be top 10 in Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams.
Under former Head Teacher Ms Anne Katee, the school saw development projects such as construction of a big dining hall, purchase of a school bus, construction and renovation of several classrooms.
Students discipline and cleanliness also went up.

Ms Katee, who now heads, St Georges Westlands, managed to instill rigorous discipline among the staff and pupils at the school.
Entry level interviews for pupils at Bidii Primary School is competitive and thorough.
The school is currently headed by Ms Raphaera Nyaga, who has to step up to match Anne Katee’s big shoes.
