The cryptocurrency craze all over the world has caught the eyes of the Kenyan matatu (Public service vehicles privately owned).
A Forward Travellers matatu has christened itself Bitcoin in honor of the biggest cryptocurrency in market cap.
Bitcoin which was started in 2008 by a pseudonymous person or group of people using the name Satoshi Nakamoto has grown from $0 (Sh0) to $63k (Sh 6.9 million) per coin. The currency began use in 2009 when its implementation was released as open-source software.
Passengers in the matatu still pay the fare using fiat money, Kenya Shillings (Sh).
Kenya matatu culture is very wild in terms of embracing graffiti on the body of the vehicles.
