The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has the evening released a statement on what transpired in the killing of a young thug known as Kibe.
The statement, read together with Hessy Wa Dandora’s, points to a promise broken.
In March 2019, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Boss George Kinoti stated firmly that there will be no more killings done by faceless police group Hessy Wa Kayole and Hessy wa Dandora.
“I’ve handled complaints about our colleagues taking law into their own hands and killing our fellow citizens. It’s true criminals are here in Kayole and other slum areas. As we seek to enforce the law, we must observe the rights of our people. We won’t be officers forever. Our families live in the very society which we harass. I can assure you that no officer under my command will be covered when he or she has killed an innocent citizen. I won’t cover you. If I do, then let me be cursed” the DCI boss said at Kayole Social Hall.
DCI’s Statement
Detectives last night gunned down a man believed to be part of a notorious gang that has been terrorising Nairobi residents, seizing a pistol & three bullets.
Our hawk-eyed detectives bumped into three men while on patrol in KCC area within Kariobangi South Post and challenged them to identify themselves.
Hessy wa Dandora missed the point on teens videotaped dancing with ‘gun’
One pretended to be fishing out his ID from his pocket. Instead, he drew out his gun and opened fire. Luckily, none of the bullets caught any of the officers.
Officers who had taken strategic positions returned fire, fatally injuring the suspect.
The other two men escaped in the darkness, escaping an appointment with their maker by a whisker.
A Glock pistol & three live ammunitions were recovered from the dead gangster. In the underworld, he operates under a cover up name, ‘Kibe’. Kibe & his gang have been giving city residents sleepless nights.
Hunt for the two accomplices who fled has been intensified.
The seized firearm & bullets forwarded to ballistic experts at the DCI headquarters for analysis, while the body lies at a city morgue awaiting identification.
