A 30 year old businesswoman has landed herself in trouble after she reportedly stabbed a police officer and stripped naked to avoid arrest.
According to court documents, Natalia Atieno is facing assault charges against a female police officer, Daisy Charo. She is also facing yet another charge of indecent exposure for getting naked on 3rd May this year to stop policemen from restraining her.
The accused, who runs a pub within Nairobi’s Umoja estate, is said to have been caught operating before the recommended time of 5 o’clock, popularly known at Masaa ya Mututho.
When police, who were on patrol, attempted to arrest her, a tipsy Atieno turned dramatic. The documents indicate that when they attempted to put her under arrest, she resisted, whilst hurling insults at the authorities.
When a female officer tried to handcuff her, she quickly reached for a kitchen knife under the counter and stabbed her on the forehead.
She also snatched her mobile phone and smashed it on the floor before stripping and taking off to stop male officers from arresting her.
Atieno was later arrested the following day and arraigned, but denied the both charges. She was released on cash bail of Sh10, 000.
