Some staff of Family Bank Donholm branch are under investigations over what police suspect is collusion with criminals to rob clients.
Recently, a motorcycle gang robbed the bank’s client who had done a withdrawal of Sh1 million from the branch.
According to media reports, the man was accosted and shot in the groin by the motorcycle gang, at City Cabanas.
“We want to know how they knew he went for the money. The gang is on the run but we will get them,” said Embakasi Sub-County Police Commander John Nyamu.
The victim is said to have initially resisted attempts by the gunmen to rob him of his money but his efforts proved futile.
Detectives have now launched a manhunt for the gunmen as well as a pursuit for the bodaboda operator who dropped him off at Cabanas stage.

The same incident is also encouraged by M-PESA Till taking shops ordering clients to show them an MPESA transaction so as to confirm is payment has been made.
‘It is highly likely that this kind of robberies are also done on M-PESA clients, and Safaricom has not reigned in on their agents and shops that accept Lipa Na MPESA,’ a Umoja resident commented.
