Punters breathed a sigh of relief after SportyBet started accepting MPESA deposits for the first time in more than 7 months.

The firm however did not issue any statement to the effect, as at 10th May 2023, 6:00am, even though the site became fully functional on and around 5th of May 2023.

Towards the end of 2022, SportyBet Kenya went offline in business reorganisation; to sort out issues of tax arrears with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) amounting to Sh1.5 billion.

During the period SportyBet was online, punters accused the firm of not refunding monies in their custody, before switching the site off.

The gaming firm had however refuted the claims, saying that all punters were paid their monies.
