I am a seasoned researcher based in Nairobi and I read your article bringing to light, the conmanship of Betika gaming company.
First of all, gambling, when done in moderation is good.
I just want to point out that apart from deleting low money stake with high winnings, I’ve notice Betika does something else, despite having a provision to be with less than Sh50, the company would not send a staker the notification for a potentially high winning stake that is staked at Sh10 Bob or below.
That is also true for stakes that are potentially high winning that one has placed with any amount they consider to be very low.
For example, stake with Sh100, with the potential win of Sh3 million. This company will not send a text confirmation message.
Gaming site Betika caught deleting high winning, low stake slip
One would even find the bet history has been wiped off such games in case they lose.
This is not justice and I’d like the Betting Control abs Licensing Board to read this.
Sportpesa
Before SportPesa was destroyed, such things would not happen.
SportPesa would honour any payments.
Though they have their weakness too, deleting very old bet history even if there’s no reason to do that, and not sending any statements when one requests for it.
So, the people who took over SportPesa have managed to run the company a little bit better, maintaining professionalism and goodwill.
But its replacement, Betika, in terms of being number one gaming site in Kenya, is a con.
Just pay people or have a minimum stake one can input.
