Kenyans online are calling for the release of the 7 activists that were arrested while holding a vigil for the slain Kayole pupil Michelle.
Michelle is said to have died after her teacher beat her.
The teacher is said to have covered the crime up by bribing her fellow pupils with money, between Sh20 – Sh30 each for their silence.
Police dumped the body at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital
The hospital which is located along Kayole Spine road has also refused to release an autopsy result. Her mother Hilda Achieng wants justice.
The police were also involved in the cover up as it is reported that one officer told Michele’s mother to ‘forget about the time as she is young and can give birth to another child’.
Gender-based Violence (GBV) activist Njeri Wa Migwi of Usikimye, translated as ‘speak up’ was arrested alongside six others and taken to Kayole Police Station.
Kenyans are calling for their unconditional release.
