As the holiday season draws near, the inhabitants of Kayole in Nairobi are expressing their anxiety over the rising trend of robberies in their vicinity.
They are calling on law enforcement to take immediate action to guarantee their security.
B3 is among the areas notorious for criminal activities, having been marked as perilous due to recurrent incidents.
In Nyando, Muthaiga and Kwa Gaza are identified as specific danger zones. Area 20, another region with a high crime rate, is causing alarm among the residents.
Masimba, also referred to as Patanisho, has recently been reported as particularly hazardous, with several incidents noted.
Kioi and Maria, situated near the river, have also been singled out for their risky conditions.
“Nyama Villa turns into a crime hot spot during the night, leaving residents apprehensive. The river bank in Soweto has seen a surge in crime rates,” shared a local resident, preferring to remain anonymous.
Mihango Stage and Kayole Matopeni have been pointed out as areas where residents need to exercise extra caution due to the increasing robberies.
The community’s appeal to the authorities comes at a time when everyone is looking forward to celebrating the festive season with their loved ones without the fear of becoming victims of such crimes.
“We are hopeful that by tackling these issues proactively before the holiday season, we can either prevent or significantly decrease the incidents of muggings,” expressed a local entrepreneur.
