Anne Katee-Odhiambo, the Head teacher for Bidii Primary School has been transferred to St Georges, Westlands.
The headteacher had overseen exemplary performance at the Buruburu-based school for many years.
During Anne Katee’s reign, the school maintained top 5 performing school on Kenya Certificate of Primary Examination (KCPE) for many years.
Her no-nonsense style of leadership instilled discipline in both the pupils and teachers and it was increasingly hard to gain entry into the school.
Bidii Primary School’s intake interview is among the hardest in the whole country, as Ms Katee only required the best-performing pupils.
No child would be admitted past class 1, they had to be nurtured as performers from an early age, from Pre Primary 1.
Some parents have expressed concerns over the school’s future performance.
‘I don’t think anyone can match Anne Katee’s performance. It might be hard to match,’ a parent complained.
Prior to her transfer, Ms Katee had served at Bidii Primary School for over 25 years.
She rose from an ordinary teacher to deputy and then to head teacher
