A poll conducted by the businessmen association of Umoja Estate finds that the leadership has switched from George Theuri (MP) and Mark Mugambi (MCA) to their long term rivals Mark Mwenje and Pablo.
Theuri’s and Mugambi’s favor has left them after they joined DP William Ruto’s UDA Party.
UDA is on the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
Residents of Umoja, one of the largest settlements in Embakasi West with a lot of voters; side with Azimio La Umoja coalition of parties.
Meanwhile, a TIFA poll has placed Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua are the most popular presidential pair at 39 per cent.
DP Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua would get 35 per cent of the votes, if elections were held today.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka would emerge a distant third with just two per cent of the respondents saying they would cast their vote in his favour at the August polls.
The other presidential candidates garnered one per cent of the vote.
According to the poll, 14 per cent of respondents said they are undecided on who to vote for while one per cent said they would not vote.
The Azimio team is most popular in five of the nine zones where the survey was conducted; Nyanza (69%), Coast (49%), Lower Eastern (36%), Nairobi (49%) and Western (49%).
The Kenya Kwanza team is most popular in four of the nine zones; South Rift (66%), Central (59%), Mt Kenya (46%) and Northern (40%).
1,719 respondents were polled in the research conducted between May 15 and May 16, 2022. The poll had a margin of error +/- 2.34 per cent.
