
Nairobi County Senator Johnson Sakaja has put the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) to task over the state of Outer ring road.
The 13 kilometre road connects two major highways in Nairobi namely, Mombasa Road and Thika Superhighway
Sakaja seeks a statement from the Committee of Roads and Transport on the state of affairs of Outering Road.
The committee should:
- State the measures put in place by Kenya Urban Roads Authority – KURA to ensure safety of all road users along the road.
- State whether KURA has any plans to erect a barrier along the pedestrian walkways to enhance pedestrian safety.
- Provide a detailed account from the Director General of NTSA on the road safety measures in place to ensure safety of all road users along the road.
- Outline measures, if any, by the traffic commandant – Nairobi Area that will be put in place to reduce cases of flouting traffic rules along the Outering Road especially by PSVs.
