There’s no doubt Embakasi West MP George Theuri loves education and therefore has invested much in improving its infrastructure.
Coming to power under the constitution 2010, Theuri found a smaller-sized constituency. Embakasi West was cut out of the larger Embakasi Constituency which spanned nearly the whole of Eastlands, that is Kayole, Buruburu, Mathare, Pipeline etc.
As a councilor, Theuri was a people person, he still is; he mingles freely and easily with people from all walks of life in his constituency.
Though he supports the youths massively, in continuation of his reign as a councillor for Umoja 1 ward, where he built bodaboda and market sheds, Theuri’s development record at one thins sucks; roads.
In the road infrastructure, collection of garbage and drainage around the constituency especially his seat of power, Umoja Estate, Theuri has performed dismally.
When he first came to power he actually tried; he dug a bigger and better drainage system that runs from First Love church, through between Tumaini and Kifaru schools, through Umoja 2 on the side near Manyanja road. This solved the issue of flooding at the First Love church junction.
However, the contractors of the road that connects Moi Drive to Manyanja Road might have destabilised the balance as water stagnates at the First Love church junction when it rains.
