Nairobi Governor announced the construction of a comprehensive drainage behind the road that passes behind Mama Margaret Hospital in Korogocho.
“Korogocho drainage problem needed a substantive mix. Materials finally procured. Teams on site laying floor bed as an initial step where culverts are to be lined and concreted. It must work,” the governor tweeted.

Sakaja was forced to address the garbage mess, by some Twitter influencers who have gained popularity in making him do that.
One Honey Farsafi, has not let the governor sleep in peace, she tweeted every day about the dire situation in her locality.
Mama Margaret Kenyatta Hospital is built directly on the drainage pathway, resulting in the collection of a mixture of sewer and stormwater to accumulate in the area with nowhere to go.
“If this tweet pops on your tl I’m begging yet again to rt and give it attention. This is day 3 of trying to get@SakajaJohnson‘s attention on this issue. It is our last resort. This sewer leakage has been at Korogocho slums for over 15 years. If it was some estate they’d have already fixed it but these are children of a lesser god it seems. This leakage surrounds the new level 5 hospital and a primary school, exposing the kids and everyone to risk for years and years!!!!! It spreads on the road and other parts of the area. This is a menace, it’s cancerous, this is posing a serious health and environmental crisis not to mention the basic human dignity!@SakajaJohnson give these people their dignity back. Ffs give them their dignity and respect, give them the safe and clean environment that they deserve,” Honey Farsafi wrote in November.
In December, the governor moved to remove garbage and “Honey Farsafi’, thought that that was it.
A few days later, the drainage worsened prompting her to restart her campaigns calling on Nairobi County Government to act.
