Struggling former Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Kioko alias Mike Sonko is busy disposing off his cars to make ends meet.
The flamboyant governor who was ousted in a coup occasioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the guise of fighting corruption is a humbled man.
Sonko was found to have received over Sh300 million on his personal account. Money that authorities believed was kickbacks from a garbage collection contract.
The power and chase cars that used to follow him are no longer there and he has decided to reduce the fleet of some classic and high-end vehicles he used to have.

Speaking to a salesman in Buruburu, Umoja News noted that the governor whose pockets have run dry is unable to maintain the fleet of vehicles and those who operate them.
“Gavanare naye ameamua kuachilia hizi magari pole pole. Hata akirudi, sidhani atataka kusaidia watu vile alikuwa anafanya hapa zamani,” said a person privy to the matter.

Sonko has been trolled for his recent posts which sometimes come off as juvenile or as an untrained blogger.
The vehicles on sale seem like those that his boys used to patrol with in and around Makadara Constituency at night as part of the Sonko Rescur Team.
