Police are investigating an incident where a man stabbed his wife several times and then reportedly committed suicide in Embakasi East, Nairobi.
The man in his late twenties is said to have disagreed with his wife over unknown reasons before knifing her on Tuesday night.
Preliminary reports indicate that the couple had recently moved to Standard Drive Court in Tassia and been in constant fights.
The woman was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital after neighbours intervened during the 8:30pm incident.
Her husband, however, ended up locking himself inside the house with their two-year-old daughter.
A neighbour who attempted to remove him from the house also got stabbed.
Nairobi County Police Commander Rashid Yakubu said crime scene officers were dispatched to the area and recovered a knife with blood stains.
It is believed to be the knife that the man used to stab his wife and neighbour before killing himself.
The body has been taken to City morgue as investigations continue.
The child was however unharmed and later rescued by police officers.
According to Mr. Yakubu, the man did not leave behind a suicide note and his wife is in critical condition, unable to communicate what happened.
