Michael Njogo Gitonga was arrested on 14th July 2021 after he was found in possession of a stolen car and booked at Jogoo Road Police Station, Nairobi..
Speaking to a local blog, Mr Gitonga narrated that he had initially filed a report at a police station after his car had been stolen in January 2021.
The car was gifted to him last year at the height of his fame by Maridady Motors.
His manager Stephen Njenga confirmed that Uhunye, as he fondly referred to in Umoja Estate, had soon found the car weeks later.
UMOJA's Michael Njogo Gitonga finally, received a car gift, a Nissan Note from Maridady Motors. He said he would start a taxi business.

“The police however had not canceled the report and were still in pursuit of the perpetrator who had stolen the car,” Njenga stated.
Njenga pointed out that the police officers who took up the investigations found Gitonga with the Nissan Note this past week and claimed he was the suspect which led to his arrest.
“Fortunately, the officer who was following up on the case in January 2021 recognised him and affirmed that Uhunye had initially filed the report,” the manager detailed.
