A Umoinner Sacco matatu Saturday night caused an accident that claimed the lives of two young men.
The matatu christened MasterMind was banned in September by the National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) for dangerous driving. A video went viral online showing the minibus overtaking others at breakneck speeds.
Yesterday, before curfew time, the bus hit a stalled truck along Jogoo road near Hamza Estate killing two conductors who were hanging on the door.
Residents are now asking how the banned matatu found its way back on the road.
In September, NTSA had banned the matatu for 6 months meaning the earliest it was to come back on the road was February 2021. How did it get back on the road?
