The cryptocurrency craze all over the world has caught the eyes of the Kenyan matatu (Public service vehicles privately owned).
A Forward Travellers matatu has christened itself Bitcoin in honor of the biggest cryptocurrency in market cap.
Bitcoin which was started in 2008 by a pseudonymous person or group of people using the name Satoshi Nakamoto has grown from $0 (Sh0) to $63k (Sh 6.9 million) per coin. The currency began use in 2009 when its implementation was released as open-source software.

Passengers in the matatu still pay the fare using fiat money, Kenya Shillings (Sh).
