A resident of Buruburu phase 2 wrote to Umoja News commending the Nairobi Metropolitan Services for recarpeting of the estate road.
However, the resident has one issue to pick with the contractor.
Bizrate is accused of leaving the dug soil on the side of the road.
“Ile mchanga walilima kutoka kwa barabara waliweka tu hapo kando na inakaa vibaya sana. wameharibu mimea ambazo zilikuwa zimepandwa kando ya barababara. Wamezifunika na mawe”, the resident complained.
Here is the project signage. Am surprised that the project completion date of retarmacking a couple of hundred metres estate road will complete in 6 months, the same duration of converting the Eastern bypass that includes bridges, walkways and flyovers etc pic.twitter.com/c48uAoKcmf

Pictures sent to Umoja News shows that some previously well-manicured lawns and fences are now under the rubble that was collected from digging sections of the road. At one point in a corner, Bizrate workers created a small hill with the rubble.
On the fence of two schools, the workers poured too many rocks that the integrity of the fence is now in question.
“wamefanya kazi mzuri, lakini wangetoa haya mawe”, the resident advised.
Umoja News is asking NMS to remove the rubble that is now an eyesore and also to repair the street lights that were damaged during the road repair.
