Jai Ashok Mahtani and Sudeep Ramesh Ramnani (pictured) owe KRA 1.5 billion.

SportyBet Kenya is accused of not refunding money to all punters before it paused its operations in Kenya, investigations show.

Kenyans on Facebook and Twitter decried the alleged non-payment of their monies, as sources say the non-renewal of the gaming firm’s license stems from tax evasion.

The gaming firm however, says that all punters were paid their monies, even as it seeks to regain its business in Kenya.

Meanwhile, those lucky enough managed to get refunds of their stake 2 weeks ago.

SportyBet has been offline for nearly two months.

The company reportedly owes Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) over Sh1.5 billion in unpaid taxes. This is the reason the firm’s license was suspended.

Though the company promises to come back in the Kenya market, the government has insisted that it pays over Sh1.5 billion in taxes first.

The new BCLB board is very keen on that and had them suspended.
