Former Nairobi County Governor Miko Sonko on Thursday went online to celebrate the reinstatement of a court case where he resisted the land grabbing of the popular city restaurant, Nyamavilla.
“ALUTA CONTINUA AGAINST LAND GRABBING. Sometimes when I mean business I don’t relent untill it’s done. After mounting pressure on the Nairobi county government in my previous post concerning the illegal withdrawal of a petition we filed in court when I was in office seeking to protect the residents of Nyamavilla against demolitions & eviction from their rightfully designated land, the Governor’s office through the Nairobi county attorney has directed reinstatement of the case back to court terming the withdrawal of the petition we filled illegal,” Sonko wrote Twitter.
The former governor decried what he described as the ‘coming back of land grabbers at City Hall’.

“The withdrawal of the petition we filled while I was in office was sponsored by few rogue and unethical county officials led an Mca who’s in the assembly leadership in collaboration with land grabbing cartels led by a notorious grabber who even grabbed a County toilet and parking opposite his hotel. Sasa waregeshe Nairobi water and sewerage houses in Eastleigh which after tenants were forcefully evicted like dogs the houses were demolished and land subdivided into 30 plots which were later sold at a price of 30m per plot,’ he wrote
Sonko vowed to keep on gighting against land grabbing cartels.
“I will not sit back and watch watu wa kanairo wakinyanganywa Mali Yao just because they can’t successfully fight for themselves for justice. I’ll complete whatever I started”, he warned.
