The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) has started issuing building owners who have constructed residential buildings with more than four floors.
In a notice seen by Umoja News, pasted on a building near Egesa East Villa area, the NMS accuses landlords of not seeking authorization to build more than four floors.
‘The development described hereunder has been carried out without the grant permission and/ or in breach of the following conditions required on that behalf of the Physical Planning and Land Use Planning Act No. 13 of 2019 / Building Code”, the enforcement notice stated in part.
Construction of a building upto 5 levels without approval from the county.
The owner of plot number 174 in Umoja 1 has already been issued with 2 weeks to pay a bribe of Sh20,000 per year per floor or face unspecified consequences.
