Raila Odinga will hold a political rally at Kamukunji, Nairobi today.
The rally which is expected to be attended by thousands of his supporters will give a comprehensive statement on the rigging by IEBC in 2022 elections.
“It is going to be the mother of all rallies, watch this space,” Makadara MP and ODM leader George Aladwa told a local media house.
Raila has convened the rally to allegedly give his supporters a ‘way forward’ following a dossier that opposition leaders say detailed how the opposition leader was cheated of his victory.
The meeting at the Kamukunji grounds is touted as a ‘people’s Baraza’ and will allow Raila to talk about the alleged dossier by an IEBC insider on how the polls were ‘manipulated’.
“He will discuss recent disclosures by a whistle-blower on the conduct of the 2022 General Election. He appeals to Kenyans to show up in large numbers at the Kamukunji baraza in the interest of the country,” Dennis Onyango, Raila’s spokesman said.
Already Martha Karua, Raila’s running mate in the August 9 general election has challenged those doubting the rigging allegations to push for the opening of the IEBC servers.
In his response, President William Ruto termed the move to hold a rally as ‘seeking a handshake’, but Nairobi Lawyer Dunstan Omari advised the president that, ‘he should cope since Raila is preparing for 2027’.
Raila Odinga is expected to land at JKIA from South Africa and head straight to the rally.
