Exactly a year ago, we wrote an article showing how Quickmart buruburu branch was interfering with the dates of manufacture and expiry of bread.
A resident has written to the Consumer Federation of Kenya (COFEK) complaining of the same. However, this time it is bread from a different company.
But whats up with Quickmart Buruburu’s food handling?

It was after this revelation that i went back to my house and keenly checked the bread i had consumed. I was shocked to realize that the bread had been contamina-ted and you could easily see the yellowish and green moulds from inside the sliced parts.I well covered the remaining slices without interfering with the packaging save for the part i used to open the bread.) visited the supermarket the following morning and raised a formal complaint. The customer care admitted the mistake and we were given the complaint form to fill. He also requested if they could replace the bread and give me another bread. The big question that remain un-answered is who takes the responsibility of the loss i have suffered and continue to suffer as i am forced to seek further medication at my cost and being a work day,) have missed reporting to my work place.

A quick glance at the bread shelves you could easily point two more supa loaf breads with green moulds from insid-e.This is in grave contravention of consumers rights to healthy food products and even their right to life as food poisoning is a serious life threatening disease that can easily lead to death. How many silent customers have been victims of this impunity ?Can replacing the bread after attempting murder help the victims cover from the huge financial and psychological burden suff-ered by the victims?Following your commitment to safeguarding consumers right in the market,i humbly request your noble office to help in taking stern action against both supa loaf company and Quickmart Ltd for selling poisonous product and attempted murder to my life as i contemplate pursuing legal option and exposing such unethical business entities to the media to save the lives of many other voiceless consumers.
Kind regards
